In May 2004, Andreas Mayer, celebrity chef from Munich, pupil of Eckart Witzigmann and already awarded several international awards, took over the kitchen management at Schloss Prielau. His cooking skills have been rewarded with numerous awards from international gourmet guides in no time: Michelin 2 stars, 2 hats / 16 points from Gault Millau 2016, 92 points from AlaCarte 2016, Restaurant of the Year 2011 from Bertelsmann, Chef of the Year Austria 2007 and much more.

Andreas Mayer has been intensively studying vegetarian and vegan cuisine for years.
