Zell am See - Kaprun hiking holiday

If you set off on a guided hike in Zell am See-Kaprun and join a hiking or mountain guide, you have a good chance of seeing the most beautiful places and learning interesting facts about the region, fauna and flora. Where does our hike start, which are the best places to stop for a bite to eat and huts and from which viewing points do you have the best view? Where can you get answers to these questions? Right, on a guided hike!

HIKING WITHOUT A HUT ...
... that would be like skiing without snow - so unthinkable. Up to 50 alpine and mountain huts welcome you on a hike in Zell am See-Kaprun. They make the hiking trails and tours what they are, a breathtakingly beautiful recreational area, where enjoyment is not neglected. Whether as a refuge on the summit, as a mountain hut on the edge of the forest or as a mountain hut with pasture - you will be welcomed and enjoy your break to the full.

HIKING ON THE SCHMITTEN AND KITZSTEINHORN

The Porsche design gondola takes you from Zell am See to the Schmittenhöhe and to the starting point of the Pinzgau walk. You can walk in one direction until the whole thing doesn't feel like a walk anymore. There are also mountain railways that take you up to the Maiskogel in Kaprun or to the Alpincenter on the Kitzsteinhorn. There you can hike along the Alexander-Enzinger-Weg or join a guided summit tour on the Kitzsteinhorn. Via the Hochkammererweg you reach the Mooserboden reservoir and continue in the direction of Kapruner Törl.

MOUNTAIN HIKES IN ZELL AM SEE - KAPRUN

On Schwalbenwand, Schönwieskopf or Hundstein you have to manage without a mountain railway, but you can drive by car to the starting points of great hikes. What awaits you there is hard to beat in terms of views and natural beauty. The hiking trails are easy, beautiful to walk and lead to summits with great views. You can rest in a hut and in the valley the Zeller See awaits you with a refreshing cool down.

Especially if your tour is to go to a summit or into the breathtaking world of the Hohe Tauern, it is best to entrust yourself to a hiking guide or mountain guide. In the high mountains local knowledge and experience are two important factors. Our guides are also your first point of contact on herbal hikes or when you stop for a bite to eat in a cosy hut. The most beautiful plants, well-known herbs, the best Kaiserschmarren or a good schnapps afterwards will certainly not slip through your fingers.

HIGH ALPINE MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE AND EASY CIRCULAR HIKING TRAILS

The Kitzsteinhorn, right on the border of the Hohe Tauern National Park, offers a varied hiking terrain like hardly any other area. Sometimes gently ascending paths over green soils and with a colourful variety of flowers, sometimes high alpine rocky landscape with karstic climbs. The cable cars take you comfortably to the starting points of the hiking routes. On guided tours you can climb your first 3,000m peak or venture an adventurous expedition through the climate zones of the Kitzsteinhorn with the National Park Ranger.

Please note: The hiking offer on the Kitzsteinhorn depends on the current weather, snow and operating conditions. Information: Kitzsteinhorn InfoService phone number +43 6547 8621
