Zell am See - Kaprun

Zell am See-Kaprun - Off to the slopes: With 100 percent snow guarantee, three mountains, fun slopes for young and old as well as fascinating snow parks and freeride routes, Zell am See-Kaprun is one of the most attractive winter sports regions in Austria.

SKIING IN THE SKI AREA ZELL AM SEE - KAPRUN

All this with an extra long season from October to May. Whether skier or snowboarder, whether pleasure carver, freerider or family with kids - in the skiing areas Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun, Maiskogel and Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See every alpine fan finds his territory. And best of all: thanks to the Ski ALPIN CARD ticket network, a total of 408 kilometres of slopes including glaciers can be conquered with a single ski pass.

SEASON STARTS ALREADY IN OCTOBER

From the start of the season in October, the Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun glacier ski area offers perfectly groomed slopes, varied downhill runs and glacier slopes with untouched powder snow. The biggest challenge for alpine skiers is the black piste "Black Mamba", which with its 63 percent gradient makes your thighs burn. Due to the absolute snow guarantee with slopes up to over 3,000 meters, winter fun on the Kitzsteinhorn lasts until early summer

SCHMITTENHÖHE - THE PANORAMA AND FAMILY SKI AREA

Ski runs for every taste and every level can be found on the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See, the local mountain high above the town with a panoramic view of around 30 three-thousand metre peaks of the Hohe Tauern. 28 cable cars and lifts take skiers and snowboarders up to 2,000 metres in altitude. In the snow park with its jumps, rails and boxes the scene meets for the ultimate in snow fun. One of the longest funslopes in the world with its 1,300 metres offers exciting challenges in terms of speed and technique. The "Trass run", one of the five long valley runs with an altitude difference of 1,000 metres and a gradient of up to 70 percent - the "blackest run" in the region - is the venue of the legendary Trass run every year.
