Beginners, families and experts have 140 km of blue, 112 km of red and 18 km of black slopes at their disposal, so that cool and varied turns are guaranteed and you can quickly gain a few downhill kilometres. With 70 cable cars and lifts, over 60 cosy ski huts, numerous snow parks, freeride park, floodlit slopes and toboggan runs, the popular ski region in Salzburg is becoming one of the most varied Austrian ski areas.
The panorama and family ski area Ski Resort Schmittenhöhe is hard to beat in winter in terms of versatility. Beginners look forward to family slopes, experts "carve" over "standard" and "trass" and experience great skiing. In between, cosy huts, sunny terraces and lots of good humour await you. The Schmittenhöhe offers three entry points in Zell am See as well as a new valley station in the Glemmtal. The zellamseeXpress takes you directly to the skiing area of the Schmittenhöhe via the natural snow slope of the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. Here you can expect a fantastic panorama of up to 30 three thousand metre peaks of the Hohe Tauern.
Mountain, lake & glacier - these are the comprehensive holiday themes of the region. The undisputed centre of your holiday, be it a skiing holiday in winter or a family holiday in summer, is the town of Zell am See. The town of Zell am See is situated at the foot of the mountain and on the shore of the lake in close proximity to the glacier. It is situated on a peninsula, formed by the Schmittenbach stream, it juts into the Zeller See and says quite clearly "This is where I am and this is where you have to go if you want to enjoy your holiday in the region Zell am See-Kaprun to the fullest".
