K-ONNECTION LEADS FROM THE CENTRE OF CAPE TOWN OVER THE MAISKOGEL TO THE KITZSTEINHORN
The new, spectacular K-ONNECTION connects the centre of Kaprun with the popular family ski area Maiskogel and the legendary Kitzsteinhorn, creating a fascinating unity. For guests and winter sports enthusiasts it brings shorter distances, ski-in ski-out in Kaprun to and from the glacier and the highest comfort in the newly built Kaprun Center including valley station, ticket offices, ski depot and sports shop. From the village of Kaprun to the TOP OF SALZBURG at 3,029 meters, up to six cable cars can now comfortably negotiate 2,261 meters of altitude difference while crossing four climate and vegetation zones. For winter sports enthusiasts, excursionists and nature lovers, this is a dreamlike alternative to the glacier jets at the end of the valley in Kaprun all year round. The heart of the
K-ONNECTION forms the 4.3-kilometer-long 3K K-onnection: Salzburg's first three-cable orbit railway connects the top station of the MK Maiskogelbahn (1,570 m) with Langwied (1,975 m) on the Kitzsteinhorn. 32 designer cabins, including two special Explorer cabins, guarantee impressive 360-degree panoramic and panoramic views.
Freeride
Anyone who has ever looked back breathlessly at the end of a downhill run in dusty powder snow to see his line in the untouched powder slope will have fallen for the fascination of freeriding by then at the latest.
Thanks to the snow-assured high altitude of the Kitzsteinhorn, freeriders are already drawn to the glacier in early winter. The five routes, which are close to the lifts and well signposted, offer a variety of terrain.
