Winter hiking in lofty heights
with or without snowshoes through sparkling white
To go on foot in the mountains in winter, you need good equipment and a perfect infrastructure on site. Zell am See-Kaprun with its 40 kilometres of cleared walking and winter hiking trails offers the best conditions for this - whether around the Zeller See, on the surrounding sunny slopes up to the summit of the Schwalbenwand or up on the Schmittenhöhe. The selection of scenic tours ranges from a short walk to an extensive hike and offers flat routes as well as a route with 500 metres of altitude difference.
GUIDED SNOWSHOE HIKES
Enjoy the 2,000-metre-high mountains, and experience the mountain air and landscape even more intensively on a guided snowshoe hike on the Schmittenhöhe. There are guided tours for beginners as well as for advanced hikers. The equipment is available for hire, you only need to slip in well suited shoes, i.e. warm and with a good profile, pack your hiking poles and the tour can begin.
During the guided snowshoe hike on the Kitzsteinhorn you can experience the legendary ICE CAMP presented by Audi quattro - a wonderful world of ice and snow. After a short introduction to hiking with snowshoes, you will be taken along the ICE-CAMP Trail to the ICE CAMP.
