AROUND THE ERLHOF

The holiday region Zell am See - Kaprun with its boundless variety awaits you. In summer you can spend an active day on the mountains by hiking, biking or simply relaxing on the hotel's private beach. In winter, when skiing, there are countless kilometres of pistes in the immediate vicinity on the Schmittenhöhe, the Kitzsteinhorn glacier or in Saalbach Hinterglemm.

After my years of apprenticeship and travelling, the restaurant "Koperpot" in Krefeld (NRW, Germany), which I opened with my wife, was our first independent business.

The restaurant, which we ran successfully for 6 years, was awarded with 1* in the Guide Michelin. In December 1991, however, we returned to Austria and successfully took over the "Hotel Bräu" in Lofer. We managed this historic establishment for 11 years at 2 cap level.

Since December 2002 I have been running the beautiful Erlhof together with my wife Renate and my daughters Sonja and Kathrin. Sonja is an outstanding chef, who was awarded as Chef of the Year by the Bertelsmann publishing house in 2013. She is a supporting pillar in my kitchen. Renate and Kathrin take care of a hearty service in the restaurant as well as the hotel business.
